I Don’t Get It

Thomas Edison once said,  “It is Obvious that we don’t know one millionth of one percent about anything.”  Ain’t that the truth?!  Sometimes I look at everything going on around me and I just have to say……  “I don’t get it.” So many times the path looks obvious to me, but then I notice others going the opposite direction and I am left to question myself….”Huh????”

Do you often times, like me, wonder if you are the last normal, sane person left on the planet?  As you sit and watch people, do you think to yourself, “Did they just get hit in the head and are suffering from a concussion?” Sometimes I wonder if some kind of memo was sent out world wide, and my email server is down causing me to miss it.

Here are some things that really perplex me….

People who wear their pajamas out to do their shopping.   

   

 

Seriously, can someone please explain this to me.  Aren’t pj’s meant to be worn in the privacy of my own home…where no one but family and close trusted friends can see me? When did they become everyday wear? Am I wrong to put on pants, and a t-shirt before I go shopping? Should I instead just get up, throw my hair in a pony tail, grab my list, and head out the door?  Someone… please help me understand.

People who take 20 minutes at the ATM

It NEVER fails…each and every time I go to the ATM, I get behind “that guy”. You know the one I am talking about.  They hunt for 5 minutes in their wallet for their bank card, then they spend the next 5 minutes trying to figure out the correct way to slide the card into the machine. Once the card has been slid and is processing, they spend the next 10 minutes punching buttons. Once they FINALLY retrieve their cash, they casually spend another 5 minutes securing it and then placing said card and cash back into their wallet before they finally drive off.

Using the ATM is NOT rocket science.  Why can people not have their card ready and know what it is they what when they get to the machine?????? Am I wrong in my thoughts???????

People Who Want To Keep With The Khardasians

This one is a biggie for me.  For the last decade this family has dominated our televisions, magazines, and social media.

Can someone please tell me what these folks have contributed to society?  Sure they have a lot of money, live in big houses, wear expensive jewelry, and love to blow up the internet, but what have they DONE? Have they won any awards? Have they taught us anything other then how to throw a party, paint our nails, or take a selfie?  Why is their every move monitored like whatever they do next will blow our minds?????

Why Did Downton Abbey Have To End???

I realize no one truly has the answer to this question, but I am still bitter 5 months after the shows end….. Don’t judge…..Anyone else not coping well either???????

And FINALLY…….

Why when there are clearly 6 people at your table at O’Charley’s do they bring you 11 rolls?

Surely you have thought that too.  You go to O’Charley’s and they immediately bring out the basket of piping hot yeast rolls.  Everyone in your party throws down like they haven’t seen food in a week, and then it happens….  that awkward moment when there are 5 rolls left and 6 of you at the table.  Who gets the shaft?  Do you hurry up and grab one of the rolls so you aren’t the one, or do you play the martyr and sit there like a sad puppy while everyone else eats another roll?

When you inquire about more rolls, you can feel the waiter mentally judging you and noting they should bring you a wedge of lettuce instead of another carb loaded basket of yeast. Just bring everyone at the table two rolls and get it over with!!!!!    Less work for you, and it can totally save a friendship in the process.

So there you have it.. just a few of the MANY things that make me question this world’s sanity. I could have talked about politics, money matters, parenting and so many more, but I am guessing by now you are as bewildered as I am. I would welcome any insight you may be able to give to the above…… maybe then I can get the confused look off my face.
